Avengers and the basics of real estate

April 29, 2019

Hey, Hello!

Our staff meetings have a component to them where we each have to state the number of hours we invested in professional development. I signed up for a conference this weekend because of the accountability and because I was so incredibly nervous about the whole thing.

It's a video conference held by my video recording method of choice Bombbomb. It's a quick two day turnaround. Why am I so nervous? I asked myself the same question. Seems us growing into something that gets recognized in the RE/MAX world and me being someone they have taken a liking to has placed me right into a very comfortable place. I learn a ton when I am around other successful people outside the brand and knowing this still took me two weeks to actually sign up.

I am a firm believer in modeling the right behaviors. With teenagers it is right at the top of mind for me all the time. I invite you to take a quick look and see where you are and if you are pushing yourself to be the best you. Do you have any professional development scheduled. Anything that makes you uncomfortable. Our belief "There is no growth without discomfort" is just as relevant now as it was when we started talking about it. Keep moving forward.

Jay and I went to see Avengers on opening day Friday. I love the superheroes movies because our family has grown up on them and in our business it would be nice to have an ironman suit or a superpower on occasion. My main takeaway which is very relevant in our business is that in the end the superheroes faced a challenge which their superpowers are almost irrelevant. It's the strength of their character, not their superpowers, that made the day. Their problems get solved with collaboration, persistence, and refusing to give up because they are overwhelmed.

Sound familiar?

You all have ramped up the business to about 60 transactions a week that Melissa is processing. Please keep that in mind when submitting your transactions. Our expectation is that you have the file submitted at least 48 hours ahead of closing. If you need help with some tips or tricks with Backagent let us know and we will help where we can.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend and I will see you in class!
